Sony Ericsson S500i
Sony Ericsson announce new phone that are borne out of their designers love for the materials and colours found in the natural world. Take a look at the Sony Ericsson S500 and expect the unexpected. Open the 14mm slim slider to reveal colour accents and ever changing desktop themes. You set the in-phone themes and external light effects to change when you want - with the seasons, as day turns to night or when the weekend begins.
The S500 offers more than stunning aesthetics. Add colour to your free time with a media player and expandable Memory Stick slot. So you choose what size of music library is right for you. You can even add a music accessory such as the Music Bluetooth Receiver MBR-100 and play your phone music direct through your home stereo. Play 3D games or access the Web browser for easy surfing on the move.
Have fun taking shots with the 2.0 megapixel camera and share moments of your life as they happen. Take a picture of where you are and blog it straight away. You can also send pictures or video to any mobile phone or email address.
eyond the Mysterious Green and Spring Yellow exteriors, effort has been made to bring design alive with the Sony Ericsson S500. The visuals on the desktop or phone menu can change automatically as the seasons pass or as day turns to night. Hidden illumination appears to highlight a certain event and the keypad glows with energy when the slim slider is opened.

Fly E300
Fly E300 is one of the best handsets given a price tag of around 8800-9000 rupees. It is a touchscreen with 2.2" display, jog dial pad, Bluetooth with A2DP profile, Java MIDP 2.0, IrDA, TV output, webcam, Video player/playback, Music player, Fm radio with recording, Dictaphone, Unlimited audio and video recording, nice collection of preloaded themes, wallpapers and ringtones, Best implemented fully functional flight mode, organiser, 1000 phonebook and huge sets of other bundles. I believe E300 is the best GSM handset your money can buy in its class.
E300 comes with decent Interface. The preloaded themes, ringtones, wallpapers, melodies and even songs (on bundled 128MB T-Flash [MicroSD] card) are sufficient and actually provide quite good choice. I liked the overall interface. The interface was decent and very functional with nice animated icons, unlike Nokia/Motorola's pathetic choice of icons. The default goodies provided give a rich experience in contrast to other major players, who seems to suck money out of the pocket by giving the least possible. There is one java based games called Icarus, which is a classical space arcade shoot-chase game. I reminded me of MegaEpic's Raptor game we used to play on DOS consoles back in mid 90s. I really liked the game, which comes with nice graphics, sound and other effects. The game is very stable and quite fast as well.

LG KU990 Viewty
The new LG’s KU990 is undeniably a slinky number in the world of mobiles phones. It’s a slim and good looking and doesn’t feel plasticky. In simple terms this is a camera that you can ring people on as well as watch TV, browse the web and listen to music. Its large 66 mm touch pad screen occupies most of the front making it look like a tiny plasma whilst on the reverse, a lens encircled by jog wheel used to control the zoom and navigate through menus and adjust volume, gives the familiar appearance of a camera!
Navigation is made straight forward and friendly by the large and sensible icon layout on the touch screen. Helpfully, you can also set the touchpad to vibrate when you touch it – confirming each selection. Although the icons and buttons on the touchpad are a good size, not having small fingers or long fingernails be a disadvantage, but if this is the case, the small extendable stylus on standby. The only slightly annoying thing is the storage of the stylus which dangles untidily from the top of the phone.

Nokia N91 8GB
Made famous as the phone with the integrated hard disk, the Nokia N91 gives good reason for all the hype that has been surrounding the handset ever since its official announcement. Again a sliding design (must say I widely prefer this to the clamshells) , the N91 does not have dual sliding options like the N95 but a simple standard slider. For style czars, the N91 seems the perfect choice since it is encased in stylish stainless steel. Now the hard drive itself has a capacity of 4 gigabytes. For those who want to better understand what that figure means, consider this, the device can store upto 3000 songs. the Nokia N91 supports a wide range of digital music formats including MP3, M4A, AAC and WMA. It also has a stereo FM radio if you ever get tired of your own collection. The 8 GB music edition, focussed on the demand of users for more space and like the iPod gave them a version with double the capacity of the original N91 (8 gigs instead of the earlier 4).
Unlike its other N-series counterparts, the N91 was never claimed to be a full multimedia computer. Rather it was the perfect music playr and cell phone rolled into one , with enough features and compatibility to even take on the iconic i-pod. Of course, the N91 failed to do anything so dramatic but it was not due to lack of effort on the part of Nokia. The press release itself mentioned several ways in which the N91 differentiated itself from other cell phones with music players.
Reproduced below are some of them:
Nokia N91 is compatible with a number of accessories from industry leading brands Bose, Harman Kardon, JBL, and Sennheiser. In addition to using their favorite audio accessories with the Nokia N91 through its standard 3.5mm jack, consumers can maximize their audio experience by choosing products from a line-up of Nokia tested and recommended audio accessories.
Get Music:
Packed with multiple connectivity options, such as WCDMA, WLAN and Bluetooth wireless technology, the Nokia N91 makes it easy for you to find and enjoy music when and where you want. With the Nokia N91, you can quickly and easily find and purchase music over the air to your device from your operator's music store.
Manage Music:
Drag and drop your personal music collection from your PC to your Nokia N91 or synchronize your recent music purchases with your PC via USB 2.0. You can also create and manage your playlists directly on your Nokia N91, or shuffle songs around to build your optimal listening experience.
Share Music:
A revolutionary feature of the Nokia N91 is the possibility to share your playlists with friends by multimedia message, email or Bluetooth. Proudly show off your musical taste or simply share the latest songs that have been stuck in your head.
Available in markets now, the N91 also has a 2 megapixel camera integrated with it. More of a jukebox rather than a phone, the N91 sure beats carrying around different devices for playing musis and chatting with pals. The aforementioned features are of course only the special ones which deserve mention, but for more details make sure to check out the specifications page.

Nokia 8600 Luna
Building upon a tradition of crafting its most unique and prestigious phones from trend-setting materials like chrome, stainless steel and titanium, Nokia today unveiled the Nokia 8600 Luna, which has been precision engineered from the same material that has inspired both artists and craftsmen for centuries- glass.
The melding of nearly opaque smoked glass with unique, soft-touch stainless steel makes the Nokia 8600 Luna as enchanting to behold as it is a joy to touch. Adding to its mysterious allure, a gentle keypad illumination pulsates from beneath the glass case while the phone awaits a call. Combined with the warmth of its glass and stainless steel body, this "heartbeat" transforms the Nokia 8600 Luna from an inanimate object into a trusted companion with an organic, virtually alive form. When a call does beckon, the signature slide movement is carefully balanced to smoothly raise the ergonomic keypad from within its glass cocoon.
"An obsession to every detail marked each step in the development process of the Nokia 8600 Luna. We took painstaking effort to ensure that the experience delivered by every surface - from the smoothness of glass against the face to the warmth of stainless steel in the palm to the superior tactile feedback of the keypad - would surpass any and all expectations," said Heikki Norta, Senior Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia. "Even the name holds special significance. Much like the Nokia 8600 Luna that we named in her honor, Luna, the goddess of moonlight, was often represented by the Romans as a mysteriously captivating beauty encircled in a soft, yet radiant light."
The balance of aesthetics and ergonomics found in the design of the Nokia 8600 Luna continues in its well thought out feature set. Nokia's first use of a single micro-USB port not only allows for a streamlined design free of extraneous indentations, it allows owners to streamline common activities - like charging, audio and data connectivity - into a single connection. Quad-band GSM support also allows owners to easily stay connected while they are on the road, while the large, bright display is perfect for sharing images captured with the 2 megapixel camera.

Sony Ericsson W830i
Sony Ericsson has included the W830i under the Walkman brand. The level of competitiveness in the cell phone industry is clearly apparent from how the competitors pick up clues from each others marketing tactics. When Sony Ericsson started branding certain handsets as 'Walkman handsets' to make them easily identifiable by consumers as phones which would have special music functions ; Nokia followed suit and started off with the Xpress Music brand.
The Sony Ericsson W830i is actually a special adapted EDGE version of the Sony Ericsson W850i. It will be available in two versions; W830c will feature a Chinese keypad whereas the W830i will be aimed at other SE Asia markets. The handset which is of slider form factor has to work on its coolness quotient since it has to appeal to the youth. The W830i will be available in white and black colors. Besides MP3, the phone will support a variety of formats which will include e-AAC+. Irrespective of the internal memory that music lovers always seem to run out of, Sony Ericsson has taken a wise decision by throwing in a 1GB memory stick PRO Duo in the box of the W830i itself. The icing on the cake is that it is possible to use a card having a capacity of upto 4 GB. Remember even the 1 gig inbox stick is enough to store almost 900 songs if the right formats are used.
The Walkman player 2.0 which has been installed on the Sony Ericsson W830i simplifies navigation through music genres, playlists, individual songs or music albums. Plus there is also TrackID, which allows you to record a few seconds of a song, either via the microphone or the in-built FM radio. With one click you can then send that clip to the Gracenote worldwide music database which will identify the track and relay the information back to the phone. So no more arguing about who sang that song on the radio!

Nokia 7900 Prism
The big bro in the Prism family doesn't really need to elbow its way into the spotlight. And, by the way, the two handsets in the Prism pair are nowhere near each other's clone. Nokia 7900 Prism offers features that are nowhere else to be found. It has no intention of bringing phenomenal all-round functionality like Nokia N95 or the HTC TyTn II but the handset surely has a charm of its own. The living wallpapers and the configurable keypad backlighting color can surely get you noticed. Besides, a 16M color OLED display is not something we see every day in mobile phones.
The main disadvantages are Mediocre camera, Inadequate QCIF video recording resolution, No memory card slot, No dedicated camera key, Poor legibility under direct sunlight, No video calls, Fingerprint magnet, Insecure grip, easy to slip, No FM radio.

Nokia N95
The good:
The Nokia N95 cell phone boasts a 5-megapixel camera that produces good-quality photos and videos. It comes with advanced multimedia capabilities and has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Symbian smart phone also features integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and an innovative two-way slider design.
The bad:
The N95 lacks support for U.S. 3G networks; standby battery life is poor; and performance is somewhat sluggish. The hardware feels a bit cheap, and the sliding mechanism could be more secure. It's also very expensive.
The bottom line:
With a 5-megapixel camera, advanced multimedia capabilities, and GPS, there's no doubt that the Nokia N95 is one of the most feature-packed smart phones to date, but poor battery life and sluggish performance make it hard to justify the high price tag.

There are a lot of good points to the Nokia N75, including UMTS support, advanced multimedia capabilities, and excellent call quality, but ultimately, its poor talk time battery life and other restrictions leave us disappointed in the smart phone.
